July 2012 Concerts

BopKick Plays Jazz!

Join BopKick on Tuesday, July 17 at 7:30 pm. They will perform jazz standards featuring numbers by the likes of George Gershwin, Miles Davis, Denzil Best and BopKick's own Barry Levine. The band features Gillian Delear, drums, Scott Davidson, guitar, Richard Hale Shaw, bass and Barry Levine, saxophone.

Gillian Delear is an exciting drummer whose propulsive power is complemented by her acute sensitivity as an accompanist.

Scott Davidson's fluid guitar lines, rhythmic inventions and on-the-fly harmonies proclaim his distinctive musical sensibility.

Richard Hale Shaw's bass lines provide the group with a solid anchor while allowing them to steer into new waters.

Barry Levine's alto sax has a vocal quality flavored by blues, R&B and bebop . He also writes original songs for the quartet.

Water Street Trio Performs

Pianist Mi Kyung Kim, and saxophonists Sarah Marchitelli and Jacob Swanson are the Water Street Trio. Their repertoire began exclusively as transcriptions and has since evolved to include original works for saxophone and piano. All three hold degrees from the State University of New York at Fredonia. They have been performing together in various combinations since 2005 at concert series as diverse as the Candlelight Concert Series in Rochester, the Four Seasons Concert Series in Erie and at the Lavatersaal in Zürich, Switzerland. Each member of the trio has won the SUNY Fredonia Concerto Competition. Join them on Monday, July 23 at 7:30 pm for an evening of classical music which will include works by Astor Piazzolla, Erland von Koch and others.

To Our Concert Goers:

Please be considerate of the performer today as well as your fellow audience members and refrain from leaving the auditorium during a piece of music. If you have small children with you, please sit in the back rows. If you leave the auditorium between pieces, please close the door quietly behind you and wait to re-enter after a musical piece. Also, if you have a cellphone, please shut if off. Thank you.

Please don't save seats! When attending a Sunday afternoon concert, please do not save more than one seat as this deprives others of attending the concert. The rule is first come, first served.
