The Toe Jam Puppet Band
Newton Free Library is proud to present the ever-popular kids favorite Toe Jam Puppet Band for a zany and exuberant summer reading kick-off program! Toe Jam offers children’s entertainment that families can enjoy together. Audience members of all ages are encouraged to sing and dance along with Toe Jam as they entertain with a unique combination of original songs and interactive storytelling. Get ready for a Car Wash, watch out for the Flying Laundry and be prepared to laugh with glee, Toe Jam style!

Bring your favorite stuffed animal and picnic lunch and join the children’s librarians for a fun sing-along.

Preschool teacher and author Shikma Benmelech will read from her new book, Mitz Mishmish (Apricot Juice). The reading will be followed by a fun book-related activity.

Winnie the Pooh Birthday Celebration!
Our beloved Winnie the Pooh sculpture is 10 years old! Help us celebrate with a special birthday party to include a presentation by sculptor Nancy SchÖn, a card making activity, story time and visit with Winnie himself! We will wrap up the event with birthday cake.

Author Visit : Cookbook
Join us for fun hands-on activities, demonstrations and practical advice with Theresa Luu and Mirela Marku, authors of the new activity cookbook Mother & Son Kitchen Book Club: Stories and Recipes for Hungry Minds. Learn how to make homemade bread and take home your own dough to bake! For children in grades K-3 with parent or caregiver.
