- An attractive place to browse and ask questions, the YA area is located on the second floor.
- A summer reading incentive program encourages leisure reading.
- Red YA labels on fiction spines denote materials of special interest to young adults.
- Blue Reading List labels on paperback spines denote suggested reading titles from the Newton school system. These titles are separately located on shelves in the YA area.
- Attractive displays, booklists, subject bibliographies and program information are prepared at regular intervals.
- A vibrant collection of nonfiction books is located throughout the library.
- A special selection of the most recent hardcover and paperback fiction is housed in the YA area.
- Tours, library orientation and instruction in the use of reference materials for groups of visiting students are offered on request.
