Programs   Mother Goose on the Loose Drop-in Lapsits As part of the Mother Goose on the Loose grant, we will be offering drop-in lapsits on four Fridays and the first and third Saturday of the month for children ages 0-23 months, with their caregivers. Fridays, April 4, 11, 18, and 25 at 3:00 pm Saturdays, April 5 and 19 at 10:00 and 11:00 am The Mother Goose on the Loose Lapsit programs are partially funded with LSTA funds through the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners. Tuesday, April 29 3:30 pm Druker Auditorium Poetry Writing Workshop - Ages 10 & 11 Mondays at 7:00 pm April 28, May 5, 12, & 19 Registration begins Monday, April 14 Creative Writing Workshop for Ages 12 & Up Read new books, talk about your favorite books and authors, and explore different techniques for writing your own stories! Ages 10 and up. Wednesdays at 7:00 pm April 2, 9, 16 and 30 Registration begins Tuesday, April 1 World Cultures - April Fool’s Day Children will learn about April Fool’s traditions around the world by listening to stories, making a craft, and tasting a delicious treat. For ages 5 and up. Thursday, April 10 at 4:00 pm. Registration begins Tuesday, April 1 Lego Club: Ages 6-9 Use your imagination to create marvelous constructions with Legos! The club meets once a month with a different theme each time. April’s theme: Super Skyscrapers. Ages 6-9. Mondays at 4:00 pm April 14 or 28 Registration begins Monday, April 7 Fun with Folktales: Frogs Children will listen to tales about frogs and make a craft. Ages 7 and up. Tuesday, April 15 at 4:00 pm Registration begins Tuesday, April 1 The Legend of King Arthur The talented actors of the Hampstead Stage Company will give a rousing performance of this play for children! Tuesday, April 22, at 2:00 pm. Ages 7 and up. Druker Auditorium Puppet Show Drawbridge Puppet Theatre brings their delightful program featuring The Carnival of the Animals and The Three Bears to the Newton Free Library. Ages 4 and up. All welcome. Award-winning musician and puppeteer Rick Goldin will be performing a family concert on Wednesday, April 23 at 10:30 am.
