Mother Goose on the Loose Drop-in Lapsits

As part of the Mother Goose on the Loose grant, we will be offering drop-in lapsits on four Fridays and the first and third Saturday of the month for children ages 0-23 months, with their caregivers.

Fridays, April 4, 11, 18, and 25 at 3:00 pm
Saturdays, April 5 and 19 at 10:00 and 11:00 am

The Mother Goose on the Loose Lapsit programs are partially funded with LSTA funds through the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners.

Read new books, talk about your favorite books and authors, and explore different techniques for writing your own stories!

World Cultures - April Fool’s Day

Children will learn about April Fool’s traditions around the world by listening to stories, making a craft, and tasting a delicious treat.
For ages 5 and up.

Lego Club: Ages 6-9

Use your imagination to create marvelous constructions with Legos! The club meets once a month with a different theme each time.
April’s theme: Super Skyscrapers. Ages 6-9.

Fun with Folktales: Frogs

Children will listen to tales about frogs and make a craft.

The Legend of King Arthur

The talented actors of the Hampstead Stage Company will give a rousing performance of this play for children!
Tuesday, April 22, at 2:00 pm.
Ages 7 and up.

Puppet Show

Drawbridge Puppet Theatre brings their delightful program featuring The Carnival of the Animals and The Three Bears to the Newton Free Library.
Ages 4 and up.

Storytime and reading help for children ages 5 to 8 on the first and second Thursdays of each month at 4:00 pm. All welcome. Award-winning musician and puppeteer Rick Goldin will be performing a family concert on Wednesday, April 23 at 10:30 am. Rick’s lively, fun and interactive program will have kids of all ages singing and dancing to the music. Call the branch for more information.
