Mother Goose on the Loose Drop-in Lapsits

As part of the Mother Goose on the Loose grant, we will be offering drop-in lapsits on four Fridays and the first and third Saturday of the month for children ages 0-23 months, with their caregivers.
Fridays, February 8, 15, 22 and 29 at 3:00 pm
Saturdays, February 2 and 16 at 10:30 am

The Mother Goose on the Loose Lapsit programs are partially funded with LSTA funds through the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners.

Songs, stories, and movement for children under 2.
**Registration begins Tuesday, February 19.

Prewalkers:
Fridays at 11:15 am - March 7, 14, 21, and 28

Walkers:
Tuesdays at 9:45 am - March 4, 11, 18, and 25
Thursdays at 10:45 am - March 6, 13, 20, and 27

Mother Goose Asks “Why?”

This is a family literacy program for children and their caregivers, that uses fantastic picture books and fun hands-on activities to introduce and emphasize science concepts to children. In this three-week session, we will learn about Weather, Seasons, and Space.
For ages 3-5 with caregivers.
Wednesdays at 4:15 pm.
February 6, 13, and 27.
Registration begins Friday, February 1.

Science Tuesday - Animal Invaders
 
How do some animals walk upside down or squeeze themselves into tiny spaces? What animal needs to eat one tenth of its body weight everyday? Learn the answers to these and other questions as Museum of Science educators introduce you to live species of animal invaders.

Children will learn about the Chinese New Year celebration by listening to stories, making a craft, and tasting a delicious treat.

Use your imagination to create marvelous constructions with Legos! The club meets once a month with a different theme each time. February’s theme: Things in the Snow.

Opera: Hansel and Gretel

Boston Lyric Opera presents “Hansel and Gretel,” based on the classic fairy tale. A singer and pianist from Boston Lyric Opera will perform highlights and get your kids singing and acting too!
