Meet the Author - Carlyn Beccia

This author and illustrator will read from her beautiful new picture book, Who Put the B in Ballyhoo? Children will hear about famous circus performers from the early 19th century and make a circus poster.

Poetry Reading at Barnes & Noble

In honor of National Library Week, the Library and Barnes & Noble, Chestnut Hill, will present a Poetry Reading for Children and Teens featuring Newton Library young poetry enthusiasts reading their original poems aloud. Participants will be from the Library’s poetry programs and Teen Advisory Board.

Children and teens must register with Jean Holmblad by Wednesday, April 11, at jholmblad@minlib.net or call 617-796-1370. All poems must be suitable for a family audience and poems must be under 100 words. The reading will take place at Barnes & Noble on Friday, April 20.
3:00PM: 5 – 11 year olds
4:00PM: Ages 12 and up

Puppet Show

"How the Elephant Got His Trunk” and “The Three Little Pigs,” lively hand-puppet stories, will be presented by Drawbridge Puppet Theater Productions.
