In this monthly program we explore math using storybooks and fun activities. Program ideas are taken from the educational research organization TERC.

Explore the world of poetry. Read some poems aloud and write some of your own.

Educators from the Wingmasters group will return with North American Birds of Prey. Children will learn about and meet these fascinating birds.

Everybody Loves a Story

Have fun and earn community service credit! Get coaching from a professional storyteller and learn to select, adapt and tell stories. We’ll help you find places to tell your stories to children in grades pre-K through 3. Pizza will be served at the first session.
Wednesdays at 7:00PM: January 10, 17, 24, 31 & February 7 & 14
Ages 12 to 15
Registration begins January 3.
Presented in conjunction with a grant from the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners.

Valentine’s Day Crafts

Listen to some sweet Valentine’s Day stories and make your own valentine.

Counting on Mother Goose

This family literacy program for children and their caregivers uses great picture books and fun hands-on activities to introduce simple mathematical concepts to children.
Ages 3 to 5
Tuesday at 3:00PM: February 6, 13, 27
Registration begins Monday, January 29.

 
The New Art Center is presenting an exhibition of children’s book illustrations. The Library will be collaborating with them, providing storytimes, bulletin board displays and other programs. Look for information on this upcoming exhibition “The Visions & Voices of Children’s Book Illustrators” March 19 - May 20 at NAC.
