The Hampstead Players present Shakespeare for Kids
In this production children will meet Shakespeare himself and through his narration they will be introduced to great works like Henry V, Hamlet, and Romeo and Juliet.

Children's Poet Paul Janeczko Makes Appearance

W.I.N.G.S., Writers and Illustrators for Newton enGaging Students, presents the second in its series of programs for students and their families. On Thursday, April 7, at 7:00PM, Paul Janeczko, award-winning poet and anthologist from Maine, will speak at the Library, followed by a booksigning. The event is geared for students in grades 2 - 8.

Janeczko’s outstanding books include A Poke in the I, Top Secret: A Handbook of Codes, Ciphers, and Secret Writing and Worlds Afire.

W.I.N.G.S. is a series jointly presented by the library teachers of the Newton Public Schools and the children’s librarians of this Library with the mission of bringing children's authors and illustrators to share their craft with the public and school children of Newton. The project is supported by a grant from the Newton Schools Foundation.

In this puppet story a princess teaches a bird the value of honesty. Puppets include a sorceress, a magic bird and a silly dragon.
