Branch Activities Annual Puppet Sale Fundraiser Just in time for the holidays Fred Reidy returns with his amazing assortment of puppets for an all day fundraiser for the Newton Free Library. Puppets range from small finger puppets to large hand puppets. Monday, November 29 10:00am to 7:00pm Druker Auditorium Evening with Lois Lowry Join us for a special evening with the talented author Lois Lowry. Ms. Lowry will talk about her latest book Messenger, a companion book to Newbery Medal winning novel The Giver and Gathering Blue. Thursday, November 18 at 7:00PM Druker Auditorium Fabulously Funny Book Bash Celebrate Children’s Book Week with us as we read from some favorite silly zany writings. Please come dressed as your favorite book character and enjoy a rollicking good time and delicious refreshments. Poetry Writing Workshop Come write and explore the exciting world of poetry Mondays at 7:00PM November 15, 22, 29 and December 6. Ages 10 and up. Registration Required. Fun with Folktales - Fish Children will hear some delightful tales, create a craft and talk about their favorite tales. Thursday, November 18 at 4:15PM Ages 7 and up.
