World Cultures
Program: Persian New Year
Tuesday, March 19 at 3:30pm
Join Ms. Jahedi as she introduces the children to this
delightful Iranian holiday with a story, craft, and delicious
treat.
Ages 5 and up. Registration begins Monday, March 4. |

P.A.L.S. Family
Literacy Program
Tuesdays, March 12 and 19 at 6:30pm
This family literacy program will be an introduction to the
resources that are offered at the library. We want to
encourage families to read together and to take advantage of all
the programs, books, audiovisual materials, and informational
services that are in the library. At each of the programs
a meal will be served followed by a story craft time for
children and a tour for adults.
Registration begins Monday, February 25.

Science Tuesday:
World of Bugs
Tuesday, March 26 at 3:30pm
With the help of lots and lots of bugs, Bugman Enterprises will
present a terrific program on the life of bugs.
Ages 5 and up. Registration begins Monday, March 4. |

Write Now!
Poetry Fest
Put your poem in print by participating in the Children's Room
Sixth Annual Poetry Fest. One original poem per child
(under 16 years old) will be accepted for the journal Write
Now!, with a submission deadline of Friday, March 29.
A celebration will be Monday, May 6, when all young poets will
receive a copy of Write Now! Fifty children will be
randomly chosen to read their poems that evening. Children
must be residents of Newton or students at Newton Schools.
