Homebound Service
Newton residents unable to visit the Library due to special needs, illness or disability may request the Library’s homebound delivery service.

How does a reader obtain Homebound Service?
Call the Main Library’s Reference line at (617) 796-1380 and ask for Special Library Services.

Your books or other materials will be delivered by either volunteers or the Library truck. Call early in the week to insure the best selection.

What materials are available?
Fiction and non-fiction books in regular and larger print, descriptive or regular videos, DVD’s, audiobooks, music recordings on CD, magazines and games.

Full Page Magnifier
Hand-held Magnifier
Uniband FM Receiver
Telecaption Adaptor
Brailler

Loan period for all Special Library Services equipment is three weeks and the items are renewable, if no one else is  waiting.

Assistive technology equipment will be added as items to the online catalog.
